Individual therapy

50 minutesApproved self-pay discounts require agreement before care, no insurance billing, and permission under your plan and applicable rules. They are not insurance copays or deductibles. Any required self-pay election must be completed before care. Selecting self-pay online does not change an existing billing agreement.
Idaho sessions are private pay. Insurance availability varies by plan and state.
Standard fee schedule
Effective November 1, 2026. These standard charges are separate from the approved self-pay discounts above.
Standard charges are billed amounts before insurance adjustments. They are not plan-allowed amounts, guaranteed reimbursement, or an estimate of what you will owe. For covered in-network care, your responsibility depends on your plan’s allowed amount, coverage, deductible, copay, and coinsurance—not automatically the full standard charge.

Choosing your booking and billing path
Use the secure booking portal for directly arranged NuWave appointments.
Using insurance: choose this path only after we confirm your plan and billing arrangement.
Approved self-pay: choose this separate path after we agree on self-pay before care and complete any required election. Selecting it online does not change an existing billing agreement.
If your care is arranged through Alma or Headway, keep using that platform’s agreed booking and billing route. Ask me if you’re unsure which path to use.

Payment, cancellations, and paperwork
Payment is due at your session. Major credit cards are accepted, and a card needs to be on file before booking. For directly billed NuWave care, use the secure client portal. Alma and Headway clients keep their existing agreed payment route.
For appointments billed directly by NuWave, a no-show fee may be up to $65 for individual therapy or $100 for couples therapy. With less than 24 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee may be up to $32.50 for individual therapy or $50 for couples therapy.
These limits are based on the discounted self-pay amounts, not the standard insurance charges, and apply to directly billed insurance or self-pay appointments only where your plan and applicable rules permit and the policy was disclosed in advance. Any lower fee already agreed in your client paperwork will be honored.
Missed-visit fees are not insurance claims, copays, or deductibles. For Alma or Headway appointments, your existing agreed arrangement applies; NuWave will not add a duplicate fee.
Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may lead to ending services. A $34 fee applies for non-sufficient funds or a bounced check.
Administrative work outside a session costs $100/hour in 15-minute increments, with a $25 minimum, and is not billed to insurance. If a request is likely to take longer than 15 minutes, I’ll ask for your approval first. Your card is charged when the work is completed. Medical-record copy requests are handled separately.
Your right to a Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
